About Pioneer High School

The inspiration

Pioneer High School opened its campus in 1959 as a public secondary school for grades nine through twelve in Whittier¹ . It is one of several comprehensive high schools run by the Whittier Union High School District, which operates campuses across the area^2,1 . The school sits between Slauson Avenue and Washington Boulevard, parallel to Pioneer Boulevard and just off the 605 Freeway¹ .
