These terms

These terms cover travelhere.co, our guest guidebooks and the Koli text line, all run by TravelHere LLC ("TravelHere", "we"). By using them you agree to these terms and to our Privacy policy. If you do not agree, please don't use them.

Using the site

You may browse and share our pages for personal, non-commercial use. Please don't copy the site in bulk, scrape it, try to break or overload it, or use it to break the law.

Our city guides and picks are independent recommendations. Places change their hours, prices and menus; check with them before you go. We are not responsible for other businesses or the sites we link to.

Being listed is free. A business may pay for a placement; it is always labelled "Sponsored ad" (see What our labels mean). Paying never changes our reviews, our picks, or our closure and safety rules.

The text, photos, Koli character and TravelHere name belong to us or the people who licensed them to us.

Submissions licence

These terms apply when you send us a place, words or photos through Get featured, or sign up a business for SGV Welcomes the World. You must be 18 or older. The boxes you tick on the form are part of these terms.

Get featured: the three boxes

1. Licence. I give TravelHere LLC a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to use, copy, crop, resize and display the photos and words I send, and to let others display them, in order to show and promote this place and TravelHere. That covers travelhere.co, TravelHere's social accounts and newsletters, Koli messages, the TravelHere Passport (including as a reference photo to check stamps) and TravelHere printed guides. I keep my copyright. TravelHere will credit me as I ask below, with a link where the format allows. I can ask TravelHere to take a photo down at any time, and it will be removed from the website within 7 days. Posts already shared or printed may stay up. I won't be paid for this.
2. Ownership and people. I took these photos, or I own the rights to them, and sharing them doesn't break anyone else's rights or any site's terms. Anyone who can be recognised in them is 18 or older and agreed to be shown on TravelHere. No one under 18 is recognisable.
3. Age and accuracy. I'm 18 or older. What I've shared is true to the best of my knowledge, and I haven't been paid or given anything by this place to recommend it (or I've said so below). TravelHere may edit it for length and check it with the place.

Get featured: photos of your own venue

1. Licence. I own these photos or have the right to share them, and I grant TravelHere a licence to display them on travelhere.co and in Koli replies.
2. Ownership and people. I took these photos, or I own the rights to them, and sharing them doesn't break anyone else's rights or any site's terms. Anyone who can be recognised in them is 18 or older and agreed to be shown on TravelHere. No one under 18 is recognisable.
3. Age. I'm 18 or older.

We review every photo before it is shown.

SGV Welcomes the World sign-up

• I'm authorised to sign up this business, and what I've shared is accurate.
• I give TravelHere LLC a free, non-exclusive licence to use the text I send here, and any logo and photos I send later, to build and promote my page. I keep my rights, and I can ask for my page to be taken down at any time.
• I understand my page is reviewed before it goes live, and that this sign-up doesn't make my business an official sponsor or partner of any event. SGV Welcomes the World is not an official LA28 or USOPC program.

Also

• We choose whether to feature or publish anything, and we may remove anything at any time.
• The licence does not cover selling your photos on products (such as merchandise). We would ask you separately first.
• To the extent the law allows, you consent to TravelHere cropping, resizing and adding text to your photos, and to credit being left off where a platform or format doesn't allow it.
• If a photo you send turns out to break someone else's rights, you agree to help us resolve the claim and to cover reasonable costs that come directly from that breach of your promise in box 2.
• To take something down, email [email protected]. We remove it from the website within 7 days. Posts already shared or printed may stay up.
• How we handle what you send is in our Privacy policy.

Copyright / DMCA

We respect copyright and expect people who send us content to do the same. If you believe something on travelhere.co infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our copyright agent:

Copyright / DMCA notices. TravelHere LLC's designated agent under 17 U.S.C. §512(c):

Under 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3), a notice must be in writing and include:

• your physical or electronic signature;
• the work you say is infringed;
• the material on our site and where it is (a link is best);
• your name, address, phone number and email;
• a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorised by you, your agent or the law; and
• a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.

We remove or disable the material promptly and tell the person who sent it, who may send a counter-notice. We end the submissions of anyone who repeatedly infringes.

Bookings through other platforms

Today our stays are booked on Airbnb. When you book there, your booking, payment, cancellation and refund are governed by Airbnb's terms and the listing's house rules, not by this site.

We work to keep our stay pages accurate, but the live listing on the booking platform is what you book: if the two differ, the listing wins. Prices and availability are only on the booking platform.

Guest guidebooks

Guests with a confirmed booking can open a guidebook for their stay, with arrival steps and house information, using their reservation number, a QR code at the home or a link we send. Guidebooks are kept out of search engines and are for your party and your dates only.

• Please don't post it or share it outside your party.
• Access details (such as entry steps) are sent only to the person who booked, for the dates of the stay.
• We may change or switch off a guidebook at any time, including after checkout.

What our labels mean

• Koli Verified means the home is on our quarterly inspection schedule, its latest inspection is done, and the issues it found were attended to. The inspection covers amenities, function and cleanliness; laundry is not required. An owner may do the inspection if they complete all of its requirements, and the badge then says "Owner-inspected". The badge shows the inspection date and comes off once that inspection is more than a quarter (about 90 days) old. It is not an inspection by a government agency and does not promise how the home will be on your dates. If something isn't right, text us and we will work to fix it.
• Sponsored ad marks a placement a business paid for, wherever it appears on the site. In a text from Koli, a paid suggestion starts with "Ad:". Everything without the label is our own editorial pick, and paying never changes our reviews or our closure and safety rules.
• 24/7 means Koli, our AI assistant, answers texts at any hour. A person may not be available at every hour. In an emergency, call 911.

Koli text program (SMS terms)

Program name: Koli from TravelHere. What you get: replies to your questions and information about your stay, such as arrival steps. Our text line (855) 212-4853 is shared with HostDesk, the company that runs operations for our homes.

Agreeing to marketing texts is never a condition of booking or staying.

Koli is an AI assistant

Koli is automated software, not a person. Koli's replies are written by AI and overseen by our team. They are for information, can be wrong, and are not legal, medical or other professional advice. Check anything important, such as house rules or check-out times, against your booking.

If you want a person, say so and we will pass your message on. In an emergency, call 911.

Limitation of liability

The site, guidebooks and Koli are provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that they will always be available, accurate or free of errors.

The site, guidebooks and Koli are free. To the fullest extent the law allows, TravelHere is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses from using them, and our total liability for any claim about them is limited to US $100.

What this does not limit: our liability for fraud, for harm we cause on purpose or through gross negligence, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for breaking the law, or for anything else California law does not allow us to limit. It also does not cover your stay itself: your rights under your booking and the booking platform's terms stay the same.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.

If something goes wrong, please contact us first; most problems can be fixed with a text or an email. There is no arbitration clause and no class-action waiver: you keep your right to go to court, including small claims court, in any court the law allows.

Accessibility

We want travelhere.co and our guidebooks to work for everyone, and we work toward the WCAG 2.2 AA standard. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. Changes apply from that date forward and do not change how an earlier dispute is handled.
