Tacos Y Que

The inspiration

Tacos y Que started in 2020 as a backyard pop-up, launched by musicians whose tours and concerts had been canceled by the pandemic and who figured a taco stand would keep them busy until live music returned^1,2 . The whole concept hangs on Sonoran-style flour tortillas from La Princesa Tortilleria in East LA, each one slapped onto griddled Monterey Jack so the cheese melts right into the shell^1,2 . Despite losing their entire mobile setup to theft, the founders pushed through and opened a brick-and-mortar restaurant in Uptown Whittier in August 2022^1,3 .

Who's behind it

Founders Bryant Siono and Omar Reyna met through the music industry and leaned on their brand-building experience there to build the business¹ . Siono, from East LA, was musical director for Jennifer Lopez, has played with Prince and Chris Brown, and produces music for The Masked Singer² .

• Asada taco: juicy flat-top steak with guacamole, cilantro, onions, and pickled red onion on the cheesy flour tortilla¹
• Steak picado taco: spiced asada sautéed with salsa and caramelized onions; the heat builds, so add guacamole to cool it down¹
