The inspiration

The modest buildings that followed aged out, and the county used redevelopment funds to replace them with a far larger campus, finished around 2014, with space for childcare, senior programs, a clinic, a kitchen, athletic fields and courts¹ . More recently, federal ARPA money paid for new turf on the field, landscaping, lighting, exercise stations and gates to keep the park safe and useful .

Who's behind it

The Grove Community Church, through its Perris Outreach Department, operates the center under the county's facilities program^2,3 . Hashish Winstead serves as director of the center, and Noland Turnage is the Grove's community minister³ .
