Plaza Produce

The inspiration

Plaza Produce started in 1978, when John Edwards noticed how busy produce stands elsewhere were and realized Glendora had nothing like them, so he opened a no-frills produce stand of his own . Over the years it grew from produce into a market with a deli, fresh salads, wine, gourmet groceries and made-to-order sandwiches .

Who's behind it

Butcher Nick Sharp became his partner around 2000 and stayed for about twenty years .

• Turkey-Berry: turkey with cranberry sauce, cream cheese and baby lettuce .
• Nick's Picnic Salad: small macaroni with capers, celery and cheddar in a classic dressing .
• Classic potato salad: a long-time companion to the sandwiches .
