How to get there

The story

About Spring Tea Garden

The inspiration

Spring Tea Garden began in 1995, when private owners bought the downtown Fullerton building from the Masons who had held it since it was built, and set aside a front room for high tea1,2 . The tea room still welcomes those groups back to where it all began2 .

Who's behind it

The building is run by private owners who purchased it from the Masons in 19951 . A 2015 tea guide by Tea Travellers Societea lists Benjamin Kim as the owner3 .

What to order

Popular dish

Royal Tea

the same three-course set, plus fresh seasonal fruit salad, a petite garden salad and a glass of champagne .

  • Garden Tea: a plant-based set of fresh fruit, a petit salad and a pot of tea, aimed at lighter lunches and dietary needs .
  • Little Princess Tea: a children's set with fruit, a scone, four sandwiches and cocoa, lemonade or a kid's pot of tea .
  • Spring Cherry or Spring Jasmine: two of the house's named green tea blends, one fruity and one softly scented with jasmine buds .

What people are saying

A tea guide describes a spacious, sunny room in a stately banquet building, with abundant portions3 . It's also a regular pick for bridal showers, baby showers and birthdays4 .

Why you should try it

Downtown Fullerton does not have another high tea quite like this one, served inside a 1920s Masonic temple turned banquet hall4 . If you are staying nearby, an afternoon of scones, sandwiches and a proper pot of tea is an easy and memorable way to slow down4 .
